Manager Governance and Organisation Development (Maternity Leave Cover)

Your Challenge

As Manager Governance and Organisation Development (Manager GoOD) you lead and empower a team of experienced professionals ensuring that War Child has an appropriate governance and integrity framework in place and executes a diversity of agreed Governance & Organisation Development projects.

The Manager Governance and Organisation Development reports to the Managing Director of War Child.

The maternity cover period will be from the last week of July 2022 up to mid-December 2022 for 24 hours per week. During this time, you will focus on several key and specific governance and organisation design projects.

Your Responsibilities

  1. Lead and empower the GoOD team.
  2. Corporate Governance:

a) lead, support and advise global governance work in relation to a global change process called the “Shared Platform” (setting up a global service and programming platform).

b) support the Supervisory Board in the recruitment process for new members.

c) update if/when needed governance documentation in line with new structures.

  1. Organization Development

a) lead, facilitate and support open dialogues, and dedicated working group – towards a diverse, equitable and inclusive War Child with a culture of belonging.

Your Profile

  • Master's degree in Law, Governance, Organisational Development / Org Culture, Business or related discipline.
  • 5 – 7 years experience in a similar position in an international organisation.
  • Solid knowledge of standards of Governance, Ethics, Organisational Development and Organisational Culture.
  • Experience and affinity with (International) NGO sector, organizational change processes in the areas of governance and organizational culture in a multi-country context and a global mindset.
  • Experience with leading and working on diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging changes processes.
  • Inspirational and decisive, with the ability to engage teams and create followership.
  • Demonstrated capacity to take decisions regarding tactical and operational matters.
  • A results-driven approach and a focus on delivering measurable outcomes.
  • Experience in managing a team of professionals.
  • Strong project coordination experience, monitoring progress and report on it.
  • Excellent verbal and written English language skills (working language is English). French, Spanish and/or Arabic language skills would be an advantage.
  • Excellent business writing skills.
  • Strong and effective communicator.
  • Culturally sensitive.
  • Organisational culture champion.
  • Meticulous with keen attention to detail.
  • Flexibility, adaptability and ability to handle conflicting priorities.
  • Available for 24 hours per week and ideally based in Netherlands.

Our Offer

  • Salary range from €3,813 to €5,234 gross per month, based on 40 hours week (the exact step determined by the years of your relevant working experience).
  • 28 vacation days on full time basis (consisting of 26 vacation days plus 2 additional fixed free days, based on 40 hours work week).

  • Monthly mobile phone contribution of €25.

Contract

Maternity cover definite period contract for approx 22 weeks, for 24 hours per week. A consultancy contract would also be considered.
