06 augustus 2018

Can’t Wait to Learn

Can't Wait to Learn, War Child’s flag ship innovation in education programme, uses a custom-built tablet-based games to provide alternative learning opportunities to children who are excluded from education due to conflict and displacement. Through the use of the serious gaming approach to learning, tablets, wireless technology and community facilitators, the project aims to overcome the limitations related to resources and public schooling infrastructure. The long-term aim is to enable vulnerable children to develop the necessary skills and knowledge to acquire a Certificate of Primary Education

War Child is looking to enter into a framework partnership with one or more companies to:

* Develop a game-based learning environment suitable to teach children in different conflict affected countries. This will be done by building on an existing code base, used to successfully launch similar games in 3 countries.

* Develop new learning materials (mini games) based on materials developed for existing games and in-line with official maths and literacy curricula.

* Document the software development process and develop a game user manual.

The framework agreement is not a guarantee of a minimum number of assignments for minimum budget expenditure, but rather will provide the overall parameters for specific assignments during the agreed timeframe.
