Your challenge
As Institutional Fundraising Officer you are responsible for capacity building in (local) institutional fundraising in the (post)conflict areas in Africa where War Child Holland works. You will be based in Kampala, Uganda with regular travel to project areas within Uganda and in the region.

The organization
The Institutional Fundraiser will be working in the region for the following project area’s: Uganda, DRC, Burundi and Sudan

Your tasks
  • Identify potential institutional donor funding
  • Represent War Child in external relations with potential donors and donor networks
  • Developing concept notes, proposals, expression of interests in line with War Child strategic plan
  • Develop, implement and evaluate a country funding strategy that identifies current and potential funding both for projects and coordination/organization 
  • Develop and maintain a network of donor organizations
  • Identify and inform senior management on possible risks related to donor funded projects and contracts management.
  • Support in writing of financial and narrative reports.
  • Ensure that institutional donor funded projects and programmes comply with donor requirements through briefing of staff and continuous monitoring and evaluation
Your profile
  • An academic background or working level
  • Knowledge and understanding of institutional donors and donor networks
  • Experience in institutional fundraising (proven track record)
  • Experience in training and capacity building 
  • Knowledge and understanding of financial systems
  • Very good written communication skills in English
  • Advisory, planning and organizational skills
  • Ability to assess relations and to act in a diplomatic, tactical way
  • Result oriented
